Kitsu Koi was started in 2003. In 2005 the business found premises, but in 2013 had to move to the current location. Starting with just 4 ponds and a cabin for dry goods, in 2017 plans we made plans to expand.
In 2018, 4 new ponds were built solely for the sale of small koi, along with a brand new online shop featuring 100's of koi products.
2019 saw the opening of the brand new fish house, holding 3 more ponds (5000 gallon, 2 x 2000 gallon), show casing our best koi imported from Japan for sale, as well as our high performance filter systems.
At Kitsu Koi, we offer free impartial advice on all aspects of koi keeping, from selecting koi, koi health to koi pond construction. Our purpose built premises have 11 sales ponds, and our systems run on AEM drum filters, Aqua Source Synergy Drum filters, Burtons drum filters, and Oase ProfiClear Premium Compact Drum filter, giving our fish the best possible environment. These systems act as perfect working models to show our customers how these filters perform when put under real pressure!
Our extensive range of dry goods and fittings include top brands such as AquaForte, Aqua Source, Burtons, Colombo, Evolution Aqua, Hikari, TMC, JPD, Kusuri, NT Labs, Oase, Superfish, Synergy Drum Filters . This means we can supply all the products needed to build, improve and maintain quality koi ponds and your prized nishikigoi. If you're building a pond, then we carry a wide range of pressure pipe and fittings, bottom drains, skimmers, pumps, air pumps, ultraviolet clarifiers, rubber flexi boots and more.

We stock healthy, fully quarantined Japanese Koi from quality breeders such as Torazo, Omosako, Marudo, Yagenji, Shintaro, Yamamatsu, Momotaro, Izumiya, Sakai and many more. Our stocks at any one time range from Tosai to Yonsai in most varieties depending on the season. Our aim is to supply high grade koi, without alienating newcomers to the hobby. Visit our koi for sale pages to see details of our current stock, but we can't keep track of small tosai online and instore, so you will have to visit for these.
Our South Yorkshire Koi Dealership offers quality koi products and services to the Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, Worksop, Chesterfield, Doncaster area and beyond. Our premises are located only 3 minutes from J31 of the M1 making the longest of journeys as pleasant as possible.
There is a Bistro Cafe on site as well as other small businesses within the garden centre.
