Many koi keepers will at some point in time will require the use of a water additive. Examples are products that clear blanket weed, to products that reduce levels or harmful bacteria.
Some koi keepers use water additives on a regular basis to control the environment in which the koi are kept. A popular additive is Montmorillonite Clay, which will simulate conditions found in Japanese mud ponds.
