Koi can be damaged by incorrect handling techniques and equipment.
A correctly sized net is needed for catching koi, and the nets used are 'pan' nets, not the deep nets you will see in the hands of a fisherman or woman.
When inspecting koi, a bowl will be needed, and if you need to move any koi, for example, from pond to quarantine, or vice versa, a koi sock may come in handy.
You may also want to retain your koi for a short period of time, a net basket or a Japanese Floating basket can be used for this purpose. |
