Koi Food: Yamato
From the same Japanese manufacturers that brought us quality foods such as Medicarp and Nobori, the Japanese Pet Food Company now brings us Yamato food range. This range of products is superb in every sense, whilst being accepted as the “economy range” from JPD.
We have used Yamato in our ponds, where we can monitor the effects over a long period of time. One thing we can assure Koi keepers is that the residue left after the fish has digested the food is quite negligible.
This is very important as many “economy” foods utilise bulking agents to increase the weight of ingredients, but sadly many are not digestible and result in high levels of waste products being handled by the filtration systems. This results in over work loads for the filters, cloudy water and floating debris in suspension.
Yamato does not fall into this cheap economy food category and can be used with confidence, as indeed we do on a daily basis at The Koi store. In our opinion no economy food comes anywhere near close to Yamato quality, further offering all the essential ingredients that makes this Koi food stand head and shoulders above the rest of the pack.
